Archbishop Chaput.
The Archdiocese of Philadelphia has set a goal to increase enrollments by about 4,000. The plan would be partially assisted by a new school choice program established by lawmakers last year.

PHILADELPHIA, PA (Catholic Online) - The Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit gives tax breaks to local businesses that provide scholarships to students that want to leave underperforming schools.

Catholic education is Philadelphia has a long and distinguished history of providing some of the area's best education, but that reputation has diminished along with enrollments since the 1990's. The new opportunity will see enrollment rise once again.

The new program will enable more students to obtain an excellent faith-based education at quality schools while building enrollment and revitalizing the schools themselves.
